My client, founded over 40 years ago is a hugely successful provider of cloud services within the travel industry and are seeking to appoint a Back-end Software Developer to develop, maintain and implement the company’s already highly successful software. The opportunity is based in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Main Responsibilities:

• Participate in the business and technical analysis, architecture and development of specific client/server modules.
• Prioritise tasks based on the received requirements, as well as further analysis, design and integration.
• Propose project plans & responsible for the timely and quality fulfilment of the assigned tasks, complying to the functional purpose of the position.
• Analyse emerging or potential technical and organizational problems, finding optimal solutions and reporting on them.
• Train other team members in expert areas and team responsibilities.
• In case of problem arise on the production servers, reacts and/or takes part in the solving of the problems in the fastest and responsible way.
• Actively communicate with the rest of the team members and other teams about identified problems in the company’s software products.
• Responsible for the provided consultations in the competence of the position.
• Introduce and update the specific project code conventions.
• Create and update technical documentation of the code modules.
• Provide authentic and actual information to the other teams.
• Define and strictly observe the internal specific rules of code writing in the project. 
• Integrate products/modules developed by external persons or companies.
• Evaluate more junior and regular members in the team.
• Estimate the applicability of available and new technologies.
• Work on bug fixing and improve application performance.
• Report any problems that cannot be resolved unaided by his/her team.
• Interaction with key stakeholders including team members, release management, project management, product management and quality management teams.

Skills and Experience:

• At least 3+ years as a Java Developer
• Experience in the development of web-based client-server applications, object orientated methods & design tools: risk analysis & management, estimation, planning & decision analysis skills; project tools: experience in tools software development used eg. JIRA: good knowledge of internal tools & applications.
• Experience in the development of web-based client-server applications;  J2EE (JSP, Java Servlets, JDBC), Java frameworks; Oracle, XSL, XSLT;  UML;
• Experience in DHTML, CSS2, TypeScript and/or JavaScript;  WebLogic and/or other application servers
• Working with tools for web applications performance analyse and optimization
• Professional certificates required for manipulating the respective software
• Ambition for the acquisition and/or updating technical and theoretical knowledge
• Self-dependence and quick responsiveness
• Attentive, precise and responsible
