My client, founded over 40 years ago is a hugely successful provider of cloud services within the travel industry and are seeking to appoint a Senior DevOps Engineer based in Sofia, Bulgaria.  The objective will be to develop, implement and maintain infrastructure & tools for deployment, configuration, support, monitoring & troubleshooting of the company’s software products.  Additionally to automate processes, tools and resources for the building of the software.

Main Responsibilities:

• Identify and evaluate new and emerging hardware, software and technology platforms.
• Combine existing experience with new concepts and tools and ensure that all technical aspects take account of interoperability, scalability and usability.
• Participate in code and architectural reviews of services developed within the team.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code ( IaC), as a replacement of the manual configuration processes with automations.
• Strive for maximum system administration automation and efficiency.
• Automate repeatable processes and operational tasks to improve reliability and velocity.
• Build tools that support the mission-critical infrastructures. 
• Proactively analyze and resolve incidents and requests and to provide tools for monitoring of applications, platforms and/or systems.
• Responsible for troubleshooting complex issues as quickly and effectively as possible.
• Create and maintain technical and architectural road map.
• Analyze and isolate issues & perform RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and to document them.
• Make recommendations and planning for future upgrades (enhancements, software and/or hardware).
• Deploy Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery  (CI/CD).
• Architect, implement, configure and maintain environments and processes.
• Develop CI/CD policies and procedures.
• Work closely with the clients and internal teams on their infrastructure and environment needs.
• Participate in the integration into the company and/or project ecosystem.
• Merge development, quality assurance, and operations (deployment and integration) into a single, continuous set of processes.
• Estimate the applicability of available and new technologies.
• Create and configure cloud-based environments, services and workflows.
• Design, develop and maintain cloud-like solutions to run on premise and in public cloud platforms.
• Perform Solution/Design reviews and studies in strategically important topics.
• Identify user needs.

Skills & Experience:

• At least 3 years in a DevOps Engineer role
• Extensive experience in the development of web-based client-server applications
• Deep knowledge in the object-oriented methods and design tools
• Risk analysis and management, estimation, planning and decision analysis skills
• Vast knowledge in the project’s tools
• Experience in the domain of the application
• Experience in tools software development used in the project; JIRA, and good knowledge of  internal tools and applications.
• Specific experience in the following technologies : Java SE/EE, Groovy, Python, JVM-languages, HTML, XML, JavaScript, YAML, Application servers (WebLogic, Tomcat, etc), public cloud services (GCP, AWS, Azure, OVH, etc), Shell scripting (and scripting in general), Ansible/Vagrant/Terraform, databases (Oracle, Elasticsearch, MongoDb), message queues/buses (Redis, Kafka, RabbitMq, etc).
• Knowledge to manage and maintain: Jenkins, Nexus, BitBucket, Jira, RHEL/CentOS, basic networking, application stack (COTS or built by developers).
